Giclée

Giclée describes the
marriage of art and
technology applied
to the production of
fine art prints.
Pronounced
zshee-clay”, this
French word means
“spraying of ink”
aptly describing this
new, computer
controlled printing
medium.
At a rate of thousands
of miniature droplets
per second,
colored dyes are
sprayed onto archival
paper, creating an
image resolution
comparable to
continuous tone.
Providing artists with
over 16 million hue
variations to render
or alter an image.
The computer-based
giclée moves beyond
the scope and
resolution of traditional
printmaking forms.
The resulting giclée
print is a truly unique
vehicle of expression.
